How It Works

From your first call to your first clean close — a clear, guided process.

Our Onboarding Process

Switching accounting support (or setting it up for the first time) feels risky. Here's exactly what happens, so there are no surprises.

1

Assess

Free · 20–30 minutes

We start with a free assessment call. You tell us about your business and where things stand today; we diagnose which service level — Accounting, Controller, or Fractional CFO — actually fits. If we're not the right fit, we'll tell you.

2

Scope

Within 48 hours

You receive a written proposal — exact scope, deliverables, and price based on your complexity, not a generic tier. Once you're ready, you review and e-sign the engagement letter online.

3

Onboard

About 1–2 weeks

We handle implementation: a guided, secure checklist walks you through granting access to your accounting software, bank feeds, and any platform-specific systems (Shopify, Stripe, payroll, etc.). We review your existing books, confirm the right chart of accounts for your industry, and scope any historical cleanup separately, in writing, before starting it.

4

First Close

End of onboarding

You get your first reconciled financials, a written summary of anything worth your attention, and a confirmed reporting cadence going forward. Controller and CFO clients also receive their first KPI dashboard at this stage.

5

Ongoing Finance Support

Every month

Reconciled books and reporting land on schedule, every month, with regular check-ins at the cadence we set together. As your business grows, so can the service level — without switching providers.

What we handle for you: connecting your accounting software and bank feeds, structuring your chart of accounts, and setting up your reporting cadence — you don't need to gather documents or figure out permissions on your own. We'll tell you exactly what's needed, when it's needed.
Common Questions

FAQ

What do I need to prepare?

Very little. We send a guided, secure checklist that tells you exactly what's needed and when, from accounting software access to bank feeds and platform connections. You won't be left figuring out permissions on your own.

Will onboarding disrupt my business?

No. Onboarding takes about 1–2 weeks and happens alongside your normal operations. Most of the work is on our side: reviewing your books, structuring your chart of accounts, and setting up your reporting cadence.

How do you access my accounts securely?

Through user access you grant inside your own QuickBooks Online file and the platforms connected to it. You control that access and can review or remove it at any time.

What if my books are behind when we start?

We'll find out during onboarding and scope any fixed-fee catch-up cleanup separately, in writing, before starting it. No surprises on your invoice.
